Client follow-up is the most patience-testing part of export sales. Many beginners bombard buyers with 'Have you decided?' messages, which only pushes them away. The right approach is to provide new value with each touch: industry news, product updates, or market intelligence.

When a client says 'Your price is too high,' don't rush to lower it. Understand whether they genuinely think it's expensive or they're conditioning you. Ask about their target price, their primary market, and who they currently buy from. Gather information first, then respond.

The 24 hours after a client visit are golden. Send a thank-you email the same evening. Share meeting notes the next morning. Buyers visit multiple suppliers in one trip — the first to follow up wins. Include a group photo for a personal touch.
