How I Finally Closed a Deal After 3 Months of Follow-Up

Sort business cards during the show — don't wait. A-grade leads re-engage next day. B-grade leads follow up within a week. C-grade prospects get a company intro within two weeks. Earlier follow-up equals warmer leads.

Three booth design principles: make it open and inviting, highlight core products prominently, ensure your brand is visible from a distance. I've seen expensive booths that were so closed-off that visitors walked right past.

Research local business etiquette for overseas shows. Japanese clients receive cards with both hands. Middle Eastern clients appreciate religious respect. European clients don't discuss business at lunch. Small gestures leave lasting impressions.

Trade show conversations need rhythm. First, understand the visitor and their needs (2-3 min). Then present solutions (5-7 min). Finally, agree on next steps. A quality 10-minute chat beats a 30-minute unfocused one.
