An inspection report should be professional and thorough: date, product info, batch size, sample size, defect descriptions, defect rate, pass/fail determination, and improvement suggestions. Photos make it more convincing.
Pre-Production Inspection is often overlooked but critical. Checking raw materials and first articles before mass production prevents disasters. One PPI costs far less than reworking an entire production run.
Communicating defects to factories requires diplomacy. Don't say 'Your products are all defective.' Present data, explain non-conformities, suggest rework solutions, and discuss cost-sharing. The goal is to solve problems, not blame.
